Research clusters

Modeling and computational biology

The application of computational modeling techniques has been key to unveil fundamental laws governing complex biological phenomena. This cluster relies on using advanced knowledge from biology, ecology, chemistry, sociology, mathematics & physics to develop computational models to study phenomena occurring at multiple scales. To do so, we combine computational algorithms with massive data available from diverse sources, ranging from public social data repositories and biological databases to in-house generated data derived from environmental prospections (metagenomes), laboratory-level microbial cultures and in vitro experiments.
