Fundacion Ciencia & Vida was created in 1997 by the Chilean scientists Bernardita Mendez, Mario Rosemblatt, and Pablo Valenzuela. For almost 25 years it supported the development of fundamental science, as well as the creation of science-based companies. It housed the Millennium Institute MIFAB (1999-2009) and the Basal Center (2006-2016). It served as the foundation for the creation of our new Centro Ciencia & Vida (2021-2031).
