Newspaper La Tercera interviews Pablo Rosenblatt, Director of our Eureka Program.

September 15, 2016

Local newspaper La Tercera recently published an article about Pablo Rosenblatt, Director of the Eureka Program of Fundación Ciencia & Vida, highlightening his prolific career as a science communicator.

In the interview, Rosenblatt tells about the events that led him to leave his work as a scientist in the laboratory to begin a creative work as science communicator. “I realized that there were people doing scientific communication who knew very little about science and, on the other hand, I had a close relationship with several prominent Chilean researchers that wanted to communicate their research to the public. I had to take advantage of that”, he explains.

He also recognizes that unfortunately, science in Chile is not part of the national identity yet: “Arturo Vidal is in our identity, you cannot be considered Chilean if you don’t know about Vidal. But if you ask people who is Humberto Maturana [a world-renowned Chilean biologist], only a 30 or 40 percent will answer correctly”.
