Carolina Torrealba, PhD
Carolina Torrealba earned her degree in Biology and a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Universidad Católica de Chile where she graduated with honors. Her research studies involved the analysis of the dynamics and assembly of a protein trafficking machinery complex in epithelial cells. In 2009 she was awarded a fellowship to attend the Cell Physiology course at the Marine Biologic Laboratories in Woods Hole, MA. In January 2011 Carolina Torrealba joined Fundación Ciencia & Vida as Director of Communications and Special Projects, where she leads new projects such as starting a new scientific publishing house, Editorial Ciencia & Vida, and fund raising for activities and workshops at the Fundación. She is also responsible for the relationship of Fundación with local and foreign scientists.
