Fundación Ciencia & Vida, in partnership with HubTec Chile, organized author-training workshops for advanced and early career researchers that took place on Tuesday, August 28th.

The initiative comprised two half-day workshops that were designed to help the participants communicate their data effectively and successfully publish in international journals. Through a combination of short lectures, open discussion and practical exercises, the academies addressed essential topics such as Academic Publishing and Ethics, Reading and Writing Strategies, Logical Manuscript Structure, Publication Strategies, and Journal Submission and Peer Review.

Scientists from diverse research fields and Chilean institutions participated in the workshops, which were conducted by Dr. Jeffrey Robens, Editorial Development Manager at Nature Research. Dr. Robens has strong scientific qualifications with 20 years of academic experience and numerous publications and awards. Since leaving academia in 2012, he has led over 300 days of academic training workshops worldwide to help researchers improve their publication quality and impact.
