Four productions of the Eureka Program from Fundación Ciencia & Vida have been included in the “Televisión para todos” (“Television for everyone”) project. The Eureka Program’s productions selected for this project are the animated series “Las Aventuras de Ruka”, focused on a boy exploring the Chilean underwater world; and the documentary series “La Fuerza del Mar”, “La Fuerza de la Tierra” and “La Fuerza del Aire”, that portrait the research carried out by Chilean scientists in oceanography, geography and climatology respectively.

The project will broadcast 7 hours of videos in 68 episodes of cultural audiovisual material, with audio description, subtitles and Chilean sign language. This initiative seeks to promote the exhibition of this inclusive audiovisual material across the country through the 65 associated regional TV channels.

A study performed by the National Television Council (CNTV) in 2011 revealed that people with visual and hearing disabilities appeared among those groups most discriminated by television programming, due to limited access. “Televisión para todos” was created in response to this problem and is driven by Fundación ProCultura, conducted by Productora de Soluciones Inclusivas 20422 and funded by the National Disability Service (SENADIS). They work with CNTV-Novasur as strategic partner, which acts as a facilitator and distributor of cultural and educational programs.
