The Tree Lab Chile is a joint venture between a New Zealand biotech company and Chilean researchers. The purpose of The Tree Lab Chile is to micropropagate high-value plants for the flower and fruit industry, using state-of-the-art technology such as somatic embryogenesis. This technique is characterized by its high multiplication rate and a minimal somaclonal variation, thus achieving a homogenization of the plants produced. In addition, The Tree Lab Chile provides assistance with the regulatory documentation needed for the import/export of plant material anywhere in the world, allowing its clients to reach foreign markets though the company’s commercial service platform.
